Evening Activities

Please Make Yourself at Home

Before the dinner and show, from 5:00pm-6:30, you're welcome to enjoy the many activities we have available to our guests - at no extra cost!

Shopping in the Mercantile

Visit the Mercantile - our cowboy gift shop.  Spend some time browsing our large selection of books, toys, pictures, clothes, and cowboy collectibles at any time during the evening.  The mercantile is open through the duration of the evening.

Train Rides

During the summer months (May through Mid-September), the Prairie Rose Express is there to offer you an enjoyable ride around the grounds.  It will take you through the Recreation Grounds and past the Hideout, where the Prairie Rose began in 1999.  The train is covered, and we offer blankets, just in case the evening is a little chilly.

Wagon Rides

Throughout the year, we give you the opportunity to take a horse-drawn wagon ride as both a fun activity and a mode of transportation. The wagons make frequent stops at the Opera House, the Train Depot, and the Hopalong Cassidy Museum.

Bar 20 Theatre & Silver Screen Cowboy Museum

Inside the Hopalong Cassidy Hall, you will find the beautiful Bar 20 Theatre, with cowboy movies playing from 5:00pm until the dinner bell rings at 6:30pm.  You're welcome to grab a free bag (or two) of popcorn and watch the movie, or you can view the Silver Screen Cowboy Museum, which is located in the theatre.  The Silverscreen Cowboy museum gives you a complete history of the movie-era cowboys, from the Silent Era to Television.  View movie props, posters, pictures and other memorabilia from all of the great movie cowboys.
